winter oil in PSD

This will be my first oil change, got a 2003 7.3 PSD in Aug. 07. with 76,000 miles. don't know whats in the engine now. Hayes book says 10w30 if below º30. I live in wisconson, read lots of threads about brands. plan to use Shell Rotella T. don't have a Ford owners manual for the 7.3. I have read good and bad things about Shell Rotella T, don't know who to believe! also heard of an additive called Lucas oil. Any suggestions? Thanks Don

oil stuff

I live so far north in Wiscosin that I would get wet if I went farther north. I use Amsoil, I am on a factory test oil program and am sold on it. The only thing I get is free oil and oil anylizing. I find that the synthetic oil keeps its new values much longer, conventional oils are good but when they degrade they go fast, not to mention stability in temp extremes. Hope it helps.
