Replace Engine or Truck?

I have a 99 F250 CC SB XLT that I just bought for $4000 I then immediately put another $1500 in 1 injector and a glowplug.
I drove it for about 1000 miles and it would not start.
The truck has almost 400,000 miles on it and the rest of the injectors should be replaced. And #5 cyl has low compression.

I can get a used engine for around $2000 and would probably swap it out myself.
The questions are:
1) in your opinion is the truck worth $8000+ with a 150,000 mi engine in it?
2) how bad of a job is it to swap a 7.3?

I guess it depends on the overall condition of the truck, and how long you would keep it for.
