99 powerstroke dies while driving and when i sync it up with a code reader

I have a 99 f250 powerstroke and it dies while i am driving down the road. I have replaced the cps numerous times and it stills dies. I bought me a code reader and when i try to sync it with the truck, the truck dies. I was wondering if anyone has came across this problem and if anyone had some suggestions.
