death trap

I recently changed the fuel filter and everything was fine..... I thought I was goin to work smelled fuel and it was blowing the gasket no big deal I fixed it. The next day i woke up late for work and I threw my clothes on jump in the ol 7.3 started fine left the drive way got on the high way and I get to about 20-30 mph and it starts sputtering real bad and will not pick up with the pedal matted and dies and extremely hard to start back. What could it be? Oh it was mid 50's and I just started it and went never had problem before

EBPV = Exhaust backpressure valve. Located on the exhaust side of turbo. There a "stem" hanging under the turbo, where the rod from the pedestal connects to it.
