2 small things probably easy

ok this has been bothering me !

1. when i stop my electric doors should unlock when i put it in park (the doors should unlock automaticaly) ...... but they dont

2. when i put the truck in reverse all i get is the 2 white lights that arent that bright on the rear brake lights..... i believe there shold be another light that comes on in reverse..... because i cant see **** in the back...
any ideas are welcome.

I bought driving lights and mounted them on the bottom side of the receiver hitch cross member and wired them into the factory trailer plug harness and also wired a switch in the dash to the trailer towing relay under the hood. Now when I put it in reverse they automatically turn on and I can see really well backing up. The dash switch allows me to manually turn them on in park or in gear which comes in handy for hooking up trailers or messing with tailgaters. I got 4 of them at Wal-Mart for around $20 a set and it took about an hour to install.

Do the door locks automatically lock/unlock? mine don't -- so if they are supposed to, I'd like to get that looked at

and as long as the backup lights -- you'll have to add some if you want, because all that comes on on any truck are the two in the taillamp assemblies

1. Your doors will not automatically unlock on an 02. Read the owners manual from cover to cover.

2. No Ford truck has ever had any more than the small standard backup lights. If you need more light there are 50w halogen replacements but they don't make that much difference. The fog or flood light idea is the best way to go.

I just wished my doors locked automatically on my 01 -- I'll tear thru the manual again when I'm off work

get alarm and remote start systme and your locks will lock and unlock automactially mine do it and i love it.

umm... yah -- I'd love to have a remote start and things -- but I already have the unlock/lock/alarm remote...

I want it to lock when I put it in gear. Doesn't really matter about unlocking because all you have to do is pull the handle on most Ford vehicles to open a locked door...

thats what i am saying the remote start/alarm will do that for you. and all youhave is keyless entry its not actually an alarm.

Its keyless and it does have an alarm... but the factory alarm means they have to break in and try to steal it first before it goes off..
