Need help ASAP!!!!!!

Hey guys,
I have an 01 f250 7.3. So I'm driving down the road yesterday, and my gauges start going crazy(RPM goes to zero when I hit the gas, and goes up to 1500 when off the throttle, speedometer stays at zero, all other gauges are all over the place). It didn't effect the driving so I just went home and parked her, well when I went to start it today, it wouldn't start.... So I charged the battery, it started, I drove it around the block, and same thing started happening again with the gauges. When I pulled in the driveway and turned it off and went to restart, It wouldnt start again.

Any thoughts on this or what it might be?
I appreciate it.

sounds like you have a wiring short, kinda sounds like what happened to my bro in laws truck, it ended up being the wire to the o/d button breaking in the middle of the shift lever and shorting itself out and ended up not allowing the alternator to work so he ended up stranded after awhile.
