Won't start

I have a 2001 f250 and my alternator went out I replaced it then two days later I was driving down the road and it just died with no warming. The check engine light was not on. And now it won't start back it cranks but that's it and the wait to start light still comes on. It also doesn't throw any codes. I have also tryed replacing the kam sensor still nothing.

Any information is highly appreciated.

First, are you using the right equipment to retrieve codes? (the generic OBD-II scanners around aren't of much use)

Next, if you are using the right scanner, when the engine just dies and produces no code, I first suspect Fuel Delivery because running out of fuel won't cause a code.

Fuel - pump runs? Fuel refilling filter housing? Tank below 1/4?

Could the Inertia sw have tripped?

Is your truck "chipped"? If so, remove it as a Test.

This is the kind of thing you don't want to guess on

Get on a good scanner and monitor the ICP & IPR and you'd know if that was it!
