Powerstroke 7,3 in boat

Hi! First time on this forum =)
I have just mounted a 7,3 powerstroke -02 (From F250) in my boat. I use the VDH2 PCM from the same car.
However this PCM have a lot of functions used only in the car (trans etc). Can anyone tell me if there somewhere is a simple ECM available for this engine? (That only supports the basic functions of the engine)

Welcome to PowerStroke.org Anders! I must say you're our first member from Sweden that I'm aware of.
I'm sure someone here will be able to answer your questions about the ECM on the 7.3 - I'm not familiar with it.
I'm dying to know though what kind of boat did you mount it in?

Alot of wires

Hi again!
The engine is mounted in a Bayliner 2858 -88 that we bought in Florida -99
I have manufactured all new stainless exhausts for it, and replaced the
car-intercooler with a watercooled one from a Cummins engine.
The picture shows what the temporary electronic setup looked like at the first teststart inside my workshop. The PCM realy has a lot of dead ends originaly used in the car.

well...

at least you got a good intercooler (i'm a cummins guy). I'm just jokin ya man. I hope somebody could help you. You might give the guys at painless wiring a call. I know if you call them they could probably send you some schematics or even make you a new ecu with a new wiring harness with everything you need.

send us pic for christmass plz

ok first about ecm stuff here my lil bit . In 1994 put ford 89 5.0l HO(the good yr!!!) into 89 Mazada b2200. When i started they all said "ITcant be done, but if it does you will need the check engine light to work". i used ALL forddrive train trans rear end .sensors .got to pass smog in calif !! ill bow : but what I learned is that you need the check engine light to give u the codes.. i used the manual to see att the electrical to cut like ac power windors trunk latch
So now you will be able to plug into oboll port to get trouble codes but whats your set up for the Rpm / glowplug light/ batt. pwr. /fuel tank/
Im Asking because I repowered my 92 rienell 19ft with diesel. At first i was looking at converting an auto diesel but fianally went with w/ Steyr 246 www.steyr-motors.com i choose this because i couldnt risk my family out on some boat i thought might work ..Im a mad scientist but im not crazy ill put up picks after the new yew .
good luck on your great poineering project and happy holiday
