INJECTOR problem???

Ok, my powerstroke is a giant smoke bomb! I can lay white smoke clouds just tapping the gas at idle to about 1500 RPM!!! It starts to clear up once it warms up, anyways I know this is not "normal" I am affraid I gotta INJECTOR problem.....It smells like diesel, I am not losing oil or coolant....Rig has 286K on original stuff....

I assume that is a sign I have an injector that is bad??? Please let me know if you had the same problem???

I have no codes, sounds like it is slightly cugging at idle, but no real stumble at idle? In fact it will cruise on the freeway no problem, its idle at low rpms it dumps smoke!

Wow. Ok I'm assuming you're talking about exhaust? Even then, that first sentence made no sense.
Could be injector or anything to do with the injector system.

Do you guys think I need a buzz test to find the issue injector??

I am not sure what to do at this point? take it to Ford and get it checked out?


What do you guys recommend? I live in Arizona...Anyone know any Diesel shops I can take it to that will fix just the problem and not need me to replace everything....

You guys think some Rev x or Hotshot secret could help or do you think I am past that point???

This all started after I ran out of gas.......Story in another tread. Low fuel light came on, engine shut off! Most assume my pickup is broken or off at this point....Anyways ever since I was smoking lightly, but it has become progressively worse......

Please help me out on this one guys.....

Buzz test probably won't tell you much. However, a cylinder contribution test would be very helpful. If I had to guess I would say you either have a screwed up injector or a dead cylinder.

Strictly Diesel is there. I think maybe Bullet Proof is too.
