This sight is great ive learned so much in 3 weeks its crazy. Well ive got one for you guys. 7.3 Early 99 when its cold out side say 40 or below or the truck sets for a couple of days in garage in cool temps. When you start it ,it surges high idle to low idle and on really cold mornings if i dont have pluged in it really does it bad and will die. But will start right back up but will surge a few more times. other than that it runs great after it gets past the surgeing in the summer no surgeing. With it pluged in on cold 12 hour shift nights it doesnt surge at all. Any ideas Thanks.

mine does that to the dealer told me its normal but mine has never died it will just settle out about after 5 sec or so. i aways plug mine in and it doesn't do it. mine is an early 99 as well. i have also been told that a faulty fuel bowl heater will cause it to surge.
