02 4x4 problem

Im having some issues with the 4x4 and am hoping you fellas can tell me where to start troubleshooting.

When I turn the selector switch nothing happens. No lights in the dash or anything. One thing I noticed was that the backlight for the selector switch will turn off when I turn it. After about 10 min the backlight will come back on.

Any ideas?

Do you guys know how I can test the switch? Can I jump the wires on the harness to test it?

once you determine if the switch is operational I would check your vacuum lines to the hubs mine has 177k on it anthe vacauums lines on mine were very brittle and causing the pump under the hood to just run as the air was escaping through the holes in the lines. I was able to turn hubs in manually and it worked. just some suggestions.

Thanks for the info. I have had that problem before. I think my problem may be the switch. When I turn it I cant hear any relays or anything.
