Injector cup
Hey fellas,
So I think I have a bad injector cup. Fuel in coolant and pushing out of the cap. It has been like this for the past 200 miles or so. How long can I run the truck before things start going really bad? I have to save money to get a kit to replace all of them. Speaking of which, is this worth the money? Riffraff Diesel: Motorcraft 7.3L Injector Cup Kit Would it be wise to get the o rings and everything else from them? I want to do this right the first time! lol Thanks for any input |

I literally just replaced my injector cups and bought the kit sold on EBay. It was excellent quality and came with the injector cup removal/installation tool as well as injector o-rings. I replaced my glow plugs while I was at it for preventive measures, as the truck has 150k on it. And you can run the truck for a little while, but the fuel in the cooling system is not good for it.

Be careful. There are cups out that are made in China and are .007 undersized. They work-for a while. I have had them fail and then come out with the injector. OEM Ford is the best way to go. Call Clay at Riff-Raff and find out if his are truely OEM. If they are OEM their price is very good. Use the Ford/International Loc-tite only. You can drive a long time with no issues if you get a hand pump and continue to suck off the fuel from the puke tank. After you change the cups run just water and flush the cooling system and run for a month and flush it again before putting anti-freeze back in.
