Door lock/ Power window problem

Not a huge deal, but very inconvenient at times. The power door lock and the power window switches on the driver's side door, won't work unless the door is closed. It didn't used to be that way. I thought it might be a child lock or something, but no amount of flipping switches has solved it yet. Suggestions?

It could very well be the harness that runs from the door to the cab could have rubbed a hole through a wire at the door, ask me how I know, and won't work until its in a certain position. I would check there first.
