I have a 2001 F250 i use to tow my 28ft enclosed gooseneck. It weighs in right around 10k when its fully loaded. Problem i am having is that i lose all kinds of power i have when i hit any incline. I do most of my towing up donner pass and need to go faster than 45 dropped into 2nd. It even tows like crap in the stock setting. All the guys i talk to who have Duramaxs and Cummins say they can pull 75 all day long up.
EGTs are always high, checked the up-pipes and they are not leaking anywhere. Boost max is 30lbs (i dont let it hit anything past it and i know that max for stock turbo is 25) I get bad turbo surge sometimes right around 18-24lbs of boost (or what i think is turbo surge. but it doesnt happen everytime) Tranny has been built to handle everything with the billet converter. I dont understand why i cant pull any kind of grade, im pretty pissed off at the truck. I know others have pulled with fords and can cruise at 65 up grades with out EGTS screaming at you. So what could my problem be??? I dont want to dump more money into if it wont tow like i need/want it too. Truck mods consist of: Ts 6Pos chip with stock 50hp 75hp 100hp valet anti theft (pretty much just the canned tunes) TS monitor system K&N intake (i know about the problems but havent had any what so ever) 4in Diamond straight piped from turbo back no cat or muffler. 2in leveling kit Help me figure this out before i trade it for a 2001 Dodge 2500 with a 6 speed.
