99 7.3 TS Chip question

I attempted to install a brand new TS 6 position chip on my truck and failed. I blew the PCM. I ordered a new PCM and I watched 15 videos and read the instructions 5 times. I know how to install it now no problem.

But here is my question.. Is the chip now bad sense the PCM blew. If it is bad will it fry the PCM again if I try to hook it up.

Should I just send it back to TS to have them look at it? If I do do you think I will have to pay full price again or are they cool and cut a deal maybe sense they dont have to send out another switch. Is there anyone better to send it to?
