Hard starting

So my trucks takes a few cranks to start. More cranks when it's cold, today was about 60 degrees and it still needed a couple of cranks and alot of white smoke came out. My buddy says it could be the glow plugs. Any ideas? Thanks

i just bought my 01 and had that problem also.check your gpr its the second behind your fuel filter make sure your getting constant power on one big post and when u turn your key to on postion u should have power on other big post.
