02 powerstroke runs great then wont restart

Had this issue with my truck when i first bought but hasnt done it for a year, truck runs great and then periodically you will turn it off and it just cranks won't start doesn't do it all the time. if you spray some wd40 in it it'll run til it burns the fuel vapors, if the truck sits for 10-20 minutes it starts and runs as if nothing ever happened??????

Batteries are new 6 months old, has less than 1000 miles on the ams oil! It builds oil pressure on the gauge while cranking but will not start????????? Any ideas I don't know if it has had any warranty work done to it!!!! Any ideas????

But it never quits on you as you're driving?

That's a weird one So, somethings "cooling off" maybe in those 20 mins? (CPS maybe?) Or pressure has a chance to equalize somewhere? (make sure you have fuel in the bowl by opening the drain at the back and see if it refills again when you cycle the key twice for 15sec each)

I donno, you'd think this would happen sometimes on the road too.... weird

Ultimately, if you had a good scanner you could hook-up when it wouldn't start, you could learn a lot I'd bet!

Ya Idk the truck has never died it quit running it jus won't restart after I turn it off, that's what im thinkn something is cooling off jus now sure what us going on!!!!!!

You really need to put a scanner on it so you can look at ipr duty cycle icp pressure def check to see if your fuel bowl is filling otherwise we are just throwing rocks

Sweet guys well I don't know anyone that has a good scanner I was told from my buddy at O Riley that I needed a special type of scanner??????? I was driving the truck back from a long distance trip and the check engine light came on twice for a few seconds so im sure there are some stored codes ill see what i can find and repost some things!!!! Really don't wanna start throwing parts at it. How exactly do I check for fuel in the bowl????? Jus check the fuel filter housing????

Checked codes today pulled a icp low (cranking) there was something with the throttle position and turbo boost low, while the truck was running it had 485 injector pressure????? Not sure if that the right term but it was 485????????????????

Does the icp sensor have any oil inside the electrical connection?

If you google image search it, you should find a pic of the location.
it is on the top of the driver side head toward the front.
