IC piping

so i got bored today and decided to othe foil delete on my ic pipe. well i tooke it off and started takin the foin off. then i noticed a pretty deep gouge on the bottom side of the pipe right before the up bend. it doesnt go all the way through and hasnt affected anything driving wise. but im just curious as to what could have caused it? and should i be worried about it?

Most likely the PS pump was chafing on it. Be careful when you reinstall that it doesn't touch again...
