chug chug problem

i did the ccv mod tonite. well i went for a spin and all started fine. then i turned on to another road and hit the throttle and it started chugin like it really cold out. like it does when it fisrt starts. so i went back and put it all back stock and it almost fixed it. now it does it going down the road and kinda fells like i let off and got back on it. havent noticed it alot in the stock setting but when i use one of the chip posistion's it's really noticable. also power is a little down. all gauges are normal and no ses light. i'll check for codes in the morning. right now i disconnected the batteries to see if that will help.???? could i have knocked some wires loose while doing it or my chip wiggled loose?

i think i have this narrowed down to the fuel filter. it looks like it's got mold on it. and the inner filter, the pleated one, is black. i just changed it a few month's ago too. maybe 6k miles ago. i'll put a new one on and see what it does.

well miss tiff, the filter did help. but i think it's still there. i dont have any smooth roads so i can really listen to it. i'm going to pull the chip and see if it still does it. then im going to try it with the tuner and see what happen's.also the drain for the filter housing was totaly pluged up and took forever to drain. i rinsed it out with clean fuel and a turkey baster.

Hey Bill you sure you didnt knock any wires loose?? I did the CCV mod couple months back and have had no problems. Does it feel like its only running on four cylinders?? If thats the case check the wiring harness under the valve cover to make sure you didnt mess up the wires. Thats the only thing I can think of. You might be right about the chip getting knocked loose too.

well tj i checked that connector and it was tight. you got me to thinkin thou, so i checked the connector on ecm/ecu/pcm what ever it you want to call it, and the bolt that keep's it pluged in was rather loose. so i guess when i put the chip i didn't get it tight enough. i havent drove it yet so i dont know for sure if it made a diffrence. also i'm going to order the junk i need to install a fuel pressure gauge so i can check that. i'm wondering if the junk that was in the fuel may have hurt the pump. there was some gold colored sand looking stuff in the bottom of the filter housing thats got me a little nervous.

does it sound like its missing bill?? lets get back to square one here, what you have already done may have not helped, even though it seems like it did....

Describe what it is doing again, but leave out the mod stuff. if it is related to what you did, we will get back to it via normal diag.....if not, this will keep us from chasing our tail.....
