Dipstick tube o ring experience

So, my dipstick tube o ring has started to leak more than just a film. Guess that means it's time. I'm gonna get the dieseloring kit. I've read all the different instructions. But when you fixed yours, how was it? Tips, tricks, comments?

My Samsung SGH-I997 made me send this.

At least you're aware of the pitfalls

I've seen videos using ViceGrips, a gun cleaning brush, safety wire, all kinds of stuff to be sure that thing doesn't drop into the pan. I don't think it makes a huge difference, just so you don't let it happen
