F450 40 GAL REAR TANK "HARPOON" FIX

Hi everybody, I have a 2000 f450 with the aft axel 40 gal tank, I believe that the in tank fuel pickup is broken or not working properly, when I turn on the power I only get a mix of air and diesel bubbles coming into the filter housing,I know that there is about 8 gallons of diesel in the tank and I have also diconnected the fuel line from the pump located below the drivers door and the same air/bubbles come out. My main question is does the 40 gal tank have the same fuel pickup/intake foot assembly as the stock tank? I am about to drop the tank and start inspecting everything but I would like to know what i am in for before I begin with the "harpoon" modification, Does anyone know where I can get a diagram of the internals of this tank ?. Any help would be appreciated
