Strange problem
The other day I made a short 10-50 mph run on the 120 setting. Didn't even put the pedal to the floor. Boost was 26-28 psi. Ran great! Immediately after that, I had no power at all. No boost. Like the turbo wasn't even spinning! After maybe 5 minutes, everything was fine and back to normal, and it has been fine since. The ses light never came on.
Is it possible the turbo froze up for a little bit? Why would it do this? The van has 145k and it looks like the turbo was off at some point, but I don't know if it has been replaced. I bought the van with about 141K. I checked shaft play when I bought it and there was none.

Scan for codes?
Maybe it is a possibility your computer defueled seeing that you hit over 20ish PSI to the MAP sensor? |

Oops...need to add overboost annihilator to my sig. Before I had this, the ses light would trip and power would drop off, but nothing like this. I was looking for somewhere to pull over, it was that bad. |

Sig updated!
But if the SES light never came on, will there be a code stored? Assuming the turbo froze temporarily, and I don't even know if this is the case, would there be a code for that?

There can still be codes, wouldn't hurt to check.
Maybe the HPOP got lagged up? That's kinda internet guessing since I dont get any codes or anything in my 120 race, but my 140 smoker is a different story for WOT 0-60MPH runs. I think if a turbo would somehow seize, the forces of the exhaust gasses trying to bypass the turbo and the cutoff of boost during a heavy foot highway run would cause the engine to run really bad and probably hurt the turbo, if not destroying it from whatever caused it to seize up. Not too sure, but thats my uneducated guess. lol Trans felt OK? |

I would guess the HPOP just got a little behind,, Is the oil full?...

Oil is right in the middle of the "safe" zone on the dipstick. If it is the hpop, will keeping the oil to the top of the "safe" zone on the dipstick help?
