truck keeps dying
Just need some advice truck will run fine for awhil and then die on me usually running down highway. Wait to start, service engine soon and water in fuel all flash on dash, if I turn key off and try to restart it will start fine and sometimes run a mile or 30 miles. Put snap-on scan tool and read p0606 (PCM fault) and p1211 (pressure to high/low) talked to a "mechanic" he said ICP and fuel filter, changed both still same problem just happening morefrequent. Please any help or advice would be great.

if your wait to start light check engine light and water in fuel light flash when all this is happening then its not icp sensor ,fuel filter or cam sensor , you have a wiring issue causing this truck to lose power to the computer , do you have a plug in style chip they can work loose and cause a similiar issue

I have no chip, it is stock. I was told to check IPR what do you think, i was leaning something electrical also but dont know where to start on that, i have located most of the grounds and Ohm them and made sure that they are tight

grounds is a good place to start , check all wiring to ipr , ive got one right now at my shop, similiar issues ihve benn dealing with for a month , not fixed yet ,
, so it may get fairly deep for yawiring issues are mostly impossible to diag over the web , so be hard to say for sure |

Scuffy I lied to you, I changed the IPR out with no change, I pulled the pcm and had a plug style chip on back and taped. I removed the chip and put PCM back and truck started. I will hook a scan tool up tomorrow at work and see what if any codes.

I'm having the same problem. There was a recall a while back on the CPS which did help however I also found a broken wire.Check the wiring & connection at the ICP sensor. If I touch mine it will stall the engine. I'm looking for a harness or new plug to splice in there?
Good Luck. |
