batt. light?

Just today I was listening to my radio while wiring up a trailer w/ the key in aux. position. Then I started up the truck to move it and the batt light was flickering on and off (was not solid), but when I would move the throtle to any thing higher than idel it went off. Is this an alt problem or a batt?
My dad looked at the batt's when we first got the truck and he said they were getting old. I'll be pulling a trailer on a 2 hour drive tomorow morning, will it be alright?

you could go ahead and replace your batteries. i dont think they can ever be to fresh. that may not be your problem but it wouldnt hurt.

that's what i'm thinking but i wont have time before to get or install batts before my trip tomorrow how long do u think it will last like this?

A battery light is an altenator problem 90% of the time...a bad battery can take an altenator out, but the light itself is caused by the Alt.....Marc
