Do I need a new lower ball joint for alignement?

I was told they could not align my truck today becasue they have to put new lower ball joint in the passenger side.

Does this sound right?

If so, should I also get the upper ball joint also?

I have the solid front axle on my late 99.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Yup, that's how it works,,, if the BJ has too much slop in it there's no point in trying to align it.

If the uppers were bad too I would hope they would have told you that too But, might be a good idea while they're at it!
