2000 f250 ran out of fuel
just got a new truck its a 2000 f250 7.3 240k miles. it ran out of fuel and 1/4 tank today. fuel filter has been changed. i priced a sending unit and its $435. is there something i can do or check to make it work right?

Yeah, that sux for sure. As I am in the same boat. My sending unit is grounded and shows full all the time. Do what I did and buy one from a wrecked truck off of here, or find a junkyard near home and you can buy them for about a hundred bux.

someone on here said you could get 1 from a v10 truck for around $131 but i dont no for sure.

V10 trucks fuel pumps and sending units are built in together, won't work. You have to have one from a diesel truck only

Not sure. Don't really see what could be holding it up. You can hit the side of the tank with a robert mallet and see if it loosens it up or something
