2001 F250 GEM/4WD Issues
I just bought a 2001 250 and 4WD doesn't work. I checked all the shift relays and shift motor and they are working. After scanning codes I have no communication with the GEM. I have power to fuse 15 GEM constant power, but no power to fuse 20 GEM ignition power. I tried jumping 12v to fuse 20 while the key was in the on position and it tried to crank. I pulled power immediately. From the Alldata schematics and plug diagrams I don't see where any wires are going to the starter or starter related accessories from the GEM. Dont know why it tried to start. I will post all diagrams I have used soon.
Anyone have any clues, I am assuming the GEM but I want to rule out all other options before shelling out 450. I guess it could be something wrong inside the fuse box since there is no ignition power to the fuse. Any help would be appreciated. I have power lock issues too, I am contributing this to the GEM as well. Last edited by joshhip976; 09-12-2011 at 05:36 AM. |

Found a what seems to be reputable company that sells GEM's for a decent price $289.
2001- FORD F250 F-250 GEM MODULE NO KEYLESS ENTRY I haven't checked the dealer pricing but from what i hear its upwards of $400. The more I think about it, the more I think it is my GEM, since my door locks are screwy, my gauge cluster lights arent working, and the 4WD issues. Also if you look at the red plug on the back of the GEM, this connects directly to the fuse box. I am willing to bet that even though fuse 15 doesnt have any power it may loop thru the GEM module. I think I am going to bite the bullet and buy a GEM ands see if it fixes my problem. Will post feedback. Last edited by joshhip976; 09-12-2011 at 05:33 AM. |

I am having a similar problem, if I tap on the fuse area my truck will start and then when if I hit a bump it stalls, also having issues with the bat’s going dead after about a day or two of sitting. Any suggestions?
