Shift Solenoid

Hi i am looking to buy a used 2000 f-350 7.3l. It's at a very reasonable price and has 130k miles on it but it needs a new shift solenoid. I was wondering how much it would be to replace it if i bought it and if that problem could trigger anything else in the truck that could be a problem. Thanks

i think the solenoid packs are around $200 or so maybe more. You just have to drop the trans pan and pop the old one out and put the new one in. I have seen it done in around 30 min. But that was with air tools. I dont think it would really hurt anything else. does it shift into every gear?
