NEED HELP

Just bought a 2001 F350 Super Duty. It's a 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel, Crew Cab Dually. The truck has been starting and running just fine for me until lately. Sometimes after the wait to start light shuts off the truck just wont start but if it sits for just alittle while it will start right up. Also it has started to die on me driving down the road lately. As far as I know it doesn't have any preformance chips installed and the truck has a factory turbocharger on it. I am new to the world of diesels & have no idea what could be wrong. I'm also not sure when the last time it was serviced was. Was wondering if anyone could help??? The truck is still under warrenty, so if need be it will be going back to the dealer I bought it from. Thanx

sounds possibly like an oil low or in bad shape issue , especially if your not sure of last oil change , make sure its full, if all looks good there , get the codes pulled before going any farther , no sense in spending money trying parts ,let me know what you come up with

Thanx for the advice! Went out & checked oil & it's about 2qrts low, also checked air filter & it's in terrible shape! I'm going to do an oil change & new air filter & see if that takes care of the problem. If not, needs it anyway. Will keep you posted on it. Once again thanx for the advice!

Does it turn over fast or kinda sluggish... 7.3 demand good battery condition. Make sure you arent having and alternator issue... or the usual CMP maintainence..

Thanks for all the help!!! I changed the oil, air filter, and fuel filter. Haven't had one problem since. Also checked the batteries and one was dead, so I replaced it also. Once again, THANKS FOR THE HELP.

Definite oil problem! When my hpop oring went out last year I had the same problem. Also my friend's truck right after she got it had the same problem. Glad you got it fixed and it wasn't anything major!!!!
