Air bag light is flashing

I have a 2003 F250 auto 4x4 with a 7.3L, My Air bag light just started flashing, it flashes 4 times then a pause then 7 times and repeats until at some point it just stays lit. what does this mean? A problem with the air bags or is it throwing a code. If I disconnect my battery will it stop?

Not knowing what that actually means, I'd say duck! But I'm would think that it indicates a problem with your airbag system.

The owners manual says to have it serviced, but I can't imagine what would be wrong with it, I have never had a problem with it before.
