Trans rebuilt now wire harness problem

Ok so i picked my truck up yesterday from the guy who rebuilt my trans... He works out of a pole barn in his backyard and my truck wouldnt fit in and leave him enough room to work so he sent it to a shop for the trans to be pulled and then re-installed after he was done

I got the truck back today and put about 50 miles on it before it started acting up and my od light started flashing. I looked under it and the wire going into the trans was routed wrong and rubbing on the drive shaft and tore through about 3 or 4 of the wires

I talked to the guy who rebuilt the trans and he wants to fix the wires and then heat shrink over it and says it will be fine.

My question is should I let him do this or should i ask him to replace the entire harness and see what he says?

he is not going to want to replace that 700$ wiring harness.
