is it normal for the 7.3 to leak this much oil?

Hey guys my oil pan is corroded and leaking major oil. Oil dipstick guage adapter is gushing oil even after 2 repairs of it. The injector o-ring job i did was a failure as the fuel bowl was almost black inside. Theres sign of oil leaking at both the rear main seal and crankshaft. I blew the timing cover apart at the hpop resoivor, so i am in the process of pulling the motor out. But seriously all this makes me want to get rid of the 7.3 for a 12v cummins. (p.s when i went to change my oil only about 8 quarts of oil came out of the filter and pan, and i know its supposed to have 14 quarts in it.) Anyone else experience this?

wow... first i think you need to clean it all down and really inspect where stuff is coming from, two how many miles on it, and three, good you're pullin it out it'll make it easier to see stuff.

Sounds like you have 2-3 different issues making for one major loss in oil, but if it was me I would just stick with it,once you get the engine out and cleaned up and the leaks fixed I'm sure you won't feel tempted to cross over to the dark side lol
