Different Styles of Radiator

I have a ford 2001 F250 Superduty 7.3L. It has the radiator that has the antifreeze reservoir on top. The top input port recently broke, and my nephew has a radiator that does not use the reservoir (does not have the bottom port to connect it too) and uses the normal radiator cap for filling. does anyone know if this radiator will work or what problems it will cause?
