Glo plugs not working.Does it crank longer than usual before starting?

Cranks right up but smokes till she is driving and its warmed up. But if it sits at idle for a while (10 min. or so) to warm up it will still smoke.
She had it scanned and they said its her #8 injector. Which is a special injector??? I thought they were all the same? Any thoughts |

there was a "crackle" coming from the number eight injector in the older 7.3s so they made it longer to prevent this from happening.
