sway bar bolts

I had a knocking under the drivers floorboard. I tightened the bar to link bolt and the sound went away. I went around and tightened all the other swaybar bolts. The passenger side bar to link bolt has been replaced. The bolt is too short so the nut is only catching a few threads. Do I need a special bolt for that? Thread? Grade?
