Well the dumb 99 that my friend neglects happens to now have a fuel leak.
Long story short the oil was low(hasnt been checked in months, im positive its leaking from the ebpv rod or hpop somewhere still) so i assumed it was the nonserviceable plug on the hpop from all the mess i'd seen under the pump. And by the time i got there anything on the ground smelled just like oil, and black of course..
fast forward to today i go to top off the oil(took more than 3qts to get it on the operating range line, probably needs another one or two at least anyway).. and fire it up, and voila theres fuel leaking EVERYWHERE. the strange thing is it wasnt leaking like that yesterday when i got there and fired it up and ran it for awhile.. it was pretty warm outside(im thinking the orings expanded keeping it from being so bad?)
It wasnt very cold this morning but cool enough...
So am I on the right track thinking its most likely the drain valve orings??? its puddling up in the valley like nuts.. some dripping down the front too.
The ironic part is the person who has the truck at the moment is the neighbor whose 6leaker is in the shop getting the heads replaced and not getting done right either(i say give it a year max b4 it craps again)...
Sorry for the long post.
