f350 heater issue

no heat in my 2001 f-350 7.3 liter everything works fine then all of a sudden the hot air goes cold. the hot air flap behind the heater core is not closing and or staying closed, i replaced the air flap acuator and still is not working. Also when the hot air stops and it goes cold the ac will not work, the one night when messing around with it somehow the ac got stuck on and i could not shut it off, i unhooked the battery and that stoped the ac from running. Anyideas this is driving me crazy!
Thank you !!!
