Sometimes No Start After Shutting Hood

I've sometimes have a issue of a no start problem after shutting the hood(letting it fall shut). My "wait to start" light won't come on and my fuel pump won't run. Sometimes after leaving the key on for a few minutes, I'll hear a click under the dash and the "wait to start" light comes on and it will start!
Has anyone else had this issue happen to them? I don't know where to look for the problem! Must be a bad connection somewhere!
