CPS Sensor (Does Gray or Black Matter?)

My CPS sensor went out and I bought one from the dealership in town (it was under recall but I would have had to drive it 35 miles to their "Ford" dealership because they could not put it in there since they were a "Chevrolet" dealership) so I put in the gray one they gave me but it seems like my fuel mileage has gone down a little, is this possible?
