Power Steering whining!!

My power steering pump leeks fluid out of the cap and whenever I turn the wheel or press the breaks I hear a very loud whining noise. I have already replaced the PS pump once hoping to fix this problem but it did not help out the situation at all. All of the lines have been checked, and none had cracks. Any helpful input on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

These hydraboost power steering units are ALL noisy. Stick a container of Lucas Power Steering additive into it and love life. I made a thread about it a year or so ago, and many people followed my advice and began loving life, just as I have.

So in other words, some lucas power steering additive will solve this problem?

It absolutely should. Now, if your ps box is shot, no it wont help. But i've used the lucas power steering stop-whine additive in a LOT of trucks (and cars) and seriously, I refer to the stuff as Jesus Juice with my friends. I had a buddy w/ an f150 who thought he blew his power steering out while we were offroading. It was messed up for a good month, and out of the kindness of my heart I bought him some lucas. I put it in, and at first there was a change. Within a few hours, the truck was unbearable to steer again. After a week or two (keep in mind, this stuff takes time to break-in and actually work 100%.. was like that in all my vehicles), his steering feels like brand new. Now, about 3 months later, his truck still steers like brand new.

Jesus Juice. Give it a whirl.

No prob like I said give it a week or two to fully break in and work. Put as much of the bottle in as you can, not just a few drops.

Oh and by the way.. is this your first powerstroke? It's the "nature of the beast" for these hydraboost systems to be noisy...
