ok guys, i have a rebuilt auto with aprox 100k on it. it seems to have a lot of issues. first of all it gets hot. i have seen temps in excess of 250 degrees pulling 5k trailer.
it also shudders on take of on hard acceleration.
it also seems like its slipping from first through 3rd. if i get on it from 1st gear it will take off shuddering as i pick up speed the shuddering goes away and it will shift into second gear. then it will rev up to 3500 rpm still picking up speed but slowly if i let off on the throttle it will feel like it either shifts or the torque converter locks up and the engine will go down to 1400 rpm and then you can feel it really pull and i pick up speed then it will shift into overdrive fine.
also it looks like i have a tranny fluid leak between my transfer-case and tail shaft can that seal be replaced?
this tranny has never puked any fluid from the bell housing area.
i have another tranny out of a 99 that supposedly only has 9000 miles on it but it has the automatic shift transfercase and mine is manual will i have any problems converting the new tranny to a manual transfercase? this tranny came with a motor i bought it looks brand new an the fluid is clean and clear red it looks like it has a new pump and tourque converter. the tourqe converter is a transtar recon extra low stall billet converter.
i know that the sure fix is to just replace the current tranny in my truck but i am trying to get all that i can out of it so any suggestions would be appreciated
