Throttle Position Sensor

My throttle sensor keeps failing. I have a 2000 F350 Powerstroke (automatic) that keeps failing, i think there is a problem other than the sensor.

The throttle will not responded at times but when in cruise control the truck runs normal.

I installed a new sensor (pedal assembly) about 6 months ago and it lasted for about 3,000 miles. Then started having same problems. I figured I may have received a bad part so I exchanged it with for for a new pedal assembly. This assembly lasted 500 miles and is having same problems.

What else could be causing the sensor to not respond. I have a programmer installed but have not had any issues with it.

Does that programmer have a plug that goes in between the male and female part of the TPS?

My Edge does and if yours does also, that could be a solution.

I have the Delta Forces - Sniper Diesel programmer. It is a normal computer programmer rather than a chip that install after the computer. There are no wires just the program that you upload
