Front Wheel bearing failure 4X4
While on my way to Lake Havasu, AZ towing my boat I had a front wheel bearing failure. It got really noisey. At first it sounded like a tire was getting a ply seperation. All was good until all at once it happend. I was able to limp into Needles, CA and fortunately there was a Ford dealer there. I am having both front wheel bearings replaced. Unfortunately I think I am paying too much, but had no choice. It is costing $1,300.00 Is that outrageous? They said $800 in parts and $500 for the labor. The truck has 138,000 miles and runs like a top. Is there anything else that I should be looking at? The U-joints look good.

in my opinion when your stuck 100's of miles from home any price sound's good, so, $1300 aint bad. but i replaced both of mine for around $300 a side and about 30-45 minutes of work per side.
