howz it goin' ya'll.. just picked up my 1999 F250 diesel CC 4x4-

luv it!

But I got codes- I went to autozone (was gonna buy it) apparently they rent 'em for free! code is 1249 'Manufacturer Control Fuel Air metering'

Any ideas on this one???

P.S. as I just rented this Actron unit from Autozone- possible the code is for a gasser and not diesel as well???

ok.. learnin as I go- code P1249 wastegate fail steady state test.... 'm supposed to look at
- WGC circuit shorted to ground
- WGC hose to actuator is loose, broken or dammaged
- WGC actuator or valve is broken or damaged or failed
- WG solenoid is broken, damaged, or failed
- PCM failed

now if Only I knew what the heck all those are!!! I need a schematic

Do you have a chip or programmer on your truck??Mine used to give that code until I put a boost fooler on it. Did you clear the code and it come back right away without getting on it? If you fill out your signature with your truck year mods and what not we can help you alittle better.

mmm, true true... Well, the truck is modded (banks big head??) - as i'm learnin'- I noticed a few things on it- I'm gonna rip the panel off and see if it's chipped...
I cleared the code and it hasn't came back yet... I checked all the wiring/hoses etc in the WGC arena. But I think you may be right there young fella..
