It's a very common problem and an easy fix

The switch is in the door, AT the latch itself. It collects dirt & crud and stops working. All you have to do is to "hose-it-down" with WD-40 to rinse it clean and it should go back to working!

I've replaced the ones that didn't work. You can find them at places like:
http://www.rockauto.com for reasonable prices.

Yep!these door switches are forever a problem!
WD40 will free them up-but the problem will come back again.
WD40 is fish oil and does free parts up-but it also attracts more scunge back in because the switch points up to the latch.
I found with mine and other friends truck to use silicone spray-it cleans and dries up so scunge will take longer to reform back in.
Did mine 4 years ago and a alot of other trucks and still no problems.
