I have a 7.3 diesel that was running just fine. I pull in somewhere shut off the truck and it won't start. I can get it to turn over but it won't fire. My wait to start light is not coming on and I don't know if this has something to do with it. The computer won't even bring any codes up to help tell me whats wrong. Does anyone know or have had this problem that can give some advice?

check fuses.
if i remember correctly there is a fuse under the dash that powers the pcm and fuel bowl heater. if the heater shorts out, it blows the fuse but also kills the power to the pcm... truck turns over but wont start (ford engeneering at its best) see if you can find it, if it is, unplug the fuel heater and replace the fuse. Just one idea, if that aint it, post back.. |

Thanks, it actually ended up being a bad terminal in the fuse box. I have fixed it.
Thanks for the advice I will remember it for future reference.

I have check all the fuses. Can't find one that is blown, still not start, and no "Wait to Start" light when key is turned on. I recently had my PCM changed, my mechanic told me my old one had a virus. He also changed my valve cover gaskets, wiring harnesses under the valve covers, and glow plug relay. This is when the problem started. Any idea's that can help. My Mechanic is suppose to be back in town tomorrow, Monday, and he said that if needed he would come to my house and trailer my truck to his shop. But, I was hoping that I could at least get it running to maybe drive it to his shop.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. |

and yeh,my old computer had a virus also.I put a new used one in and it fixed a few problems.I just seen that you don't have a wait to start light.Seems like that goes back to a possible problem with the computer again. You are sure all the fuses under the hood and in the truck are fine?I know I missed a 30 amp that was blown and I checked them twice.Ended up being the heater one which also controls something with the pcm so I had nothing like a bad computer.Mine died on me going down the highway at 75mph in the passing lane.
