Preventing Hydrolock?

What do I need to open up when changing injectors to prevent Hydrolocking. Go as in depth as you like. I'm all ears!
In the summer months, I've never had a problem, but I'm two for two this week (a '95 & an '01) in the colder weather. What can be damaged cranking a truck with this issue?

You can drain the oil from the ports, vac the fluid out with somthing or MY fav.. leave the glow plugs out and start buy a couple bumps from the starter thin move on to crank it for 10 sec or until you see no more fluid shooting across the yard
