hard start after sitting, not sure what is it.
So i have a 2001 7.3 with about 110,000 miles. My problem is after I don't run my truck for a while, its very hard starting and just cranks over and over, and billows white smoke. The longer it sits the longer it takes to start. I am not throwing any codes. When its cranking it acts like it wants to fire, but wont. The thing I don't understand it after I get it started, it will start normal every time after that until I let it sit for a day or more.
I've had a few suggestions from friends and have my own ideas of what it could be, but I'm pretty short on funds and don't want to throw money into it just on a hunch. The three suggestions I've got are the glow plugs, the lift pump, and the glow plug relay.
I'm hesitant to say its glow plugs because it starts normal after i get it started the first time, and the last time I had an issue with the glow plugs it threw a code. But it could be glow plugs, I'm not sure.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
