Key fob remote broke . . . what now?
So I was getting out to grab the mail with the motor running, my knee bumped it, the plastic loop snapped, and the fob went flying out the door into the snow bank on the other side of the road.
![]() It still works and I stuck a paperclip to the back with epoxy but I want a new one so I can look cool again . . . need all the help I can get looking cool! ![]() So what is the best place to get replacement fobs? Do I need to replace them all at once? Any help would be great since I’m a gear head not an electronics type at all. |

cheapest, check out ebay, always plenty of remotes and some come with programming instructions otherwise will have to take it to the dealer to get programmed.

Dont take it to the dealer. You should be able to do a search on the internet and find the instructions. You must have all you remotes in the truck when you reprogram. All the remotes will get a new code. Ebay or a local used call dealership might be your best bet on getting an new or used one. I know the used car dealership around here usually have a ton on them in the tech tool boxes. Let my know if you have trouble finding the program on the internet.

I found the program info in the owner’s manual but since I have remote start I have not been able to find the fob in Ebay or elsewhere yet. All the 4 button fobs for 01s are for the van and the 4th button is for the back door, they look the same other than the picture on the blue button so I wonder if they will work.
