I have a 02 7.3 109,900 miles no issues until now. Check engine light came on a few minutes later truck starts running rough like it has a miss. Limped truck back home would not go over 45 MPH. Leave it and get a buddy to come over with his Snap On scanner. It is showing these three codes
P0113 IAT Circuit Input
P0380 Glow Plug Circuit Fault
P1316 Injector Driver Module (IDM) Codes detected
You need to explore that 1316. To do that the next step is to perform a Buzz Test to allow the IDMs internal sw to further diagnose what is sees is the problem (the Snap-On should be able to do this). During that Buzz Test you might hear 1/2 of the injector buzzes Very different (quiet), showing you're only running on 4clys.
What you could try in the mean time is to fire it up for 30 secs, keep it running anyway you can, and go feel the exhaust manifolds to compare for heat in each side (above the ft tires). If you have a cold side then that's the side with the problem.
IF you find that then the two common issues are either the connector through the valve cover gasket (UVCH) powering the injectors, has come loose inside or the IDM has water in it and can't fire some injectors...
I will try this ASAP!! The truck stays running just fine. The misfire or miss occurs under a load
